about my role

As CEO and lead designer, I drove Bullet from concept to execution, ensuring it met the fast-paced needs of Active Independent Young Adults. I conducted in-depth market and UX research to uncover how users engage with productivity tools and where existing solutions fell short. This informed a minimalist yet highly functional UI, optimized for speed, efficiency, and AI-assisted organization. I also oversaw brand development, product positioning, and go-to-market strategy, ensuring Bullet resonated with its audience. More than just a note-taking app, Bullet was designed to be an on-the-go productivity companion, prioritizing intuitive navigation, cross-platform accessibility, and seamless reminders for users with fast-moving lives.

HOW I PUT MY SKILLS TO WORK
💻

Prototyping. Built interactive, high-fidelity prototypes in Figma to rapidly test and refine Bullet’s UX by performing guerilla testing with the target market

🧑‍🏫

Pitch deck design. Crafted a compelling, investor-ready pitch deck that clearly communicated Bullet’s problem-solving approach, user demand, and potential market impact

📣

Social media marketing. Developed branding and messaging strategies, creating targeted campaigns that resonated with young professionals and highlighted Bullet’s core benefit

📱

User interface design. Designed a snappy, minimalist interface that prioritized clarity and speed, ensuring users could capture and organize notes effortlessly across multiple platforms

📈

Market research. Analyzed competitor apps and user behavior trends to position Bullet as a unique, AI-powered productivity tool, ensuring strong differentiation and relevance

👩‍💻

User experience research. Conducted user interviews and developed artifacts to focus the team on how young adults take notes, refining Bullet’s features for speed, efficiency, and seamless retrieval

👥

Project management. Led a cross-functional team, optimizing workflows and delegating tasks strategically to ensure product development stayed on track across all phases

👥

Project management. Proposed and led the development of DSC Playground, and oversaw all aspects of program execution, from structuring mentorship tracks to organizing final pitch presentations, enabling participants to successfully develop and present their startup ideas.

SO... what happened?
Bullet is how my team reimagined note-taking for Active Independent Young Adults: prioritizing speed, simplicity, and AI-driven organization. We designed a system that allowed users to seamlessly capture, sort, and retrieve notes across multiple platforms, eliminating friction in fast-paced environments. By focusing on snappy interactions and intelligent reminders, we built a tool that kept up with the rapid-thinking minds it served.
Impact & learning
Conducted UX interviews with young, active professionals to get to know their productivity styles
Before designing Bullet, we needed to understand the productivity habits of young, active professionals. I led UX interviews with students and early-career professionals, uncovering key insights into how they structured their daily tasks, captured fleeting thoughts, and balanced digital overload. I learned from these interviews that young professionals struggle with scattered notes and lack of organization, reinforcing our hypothesis that existing tools lacked the speed and structure they needed. These insights became the foundation for Bullet’s core features—helping users capture, organize, and retrieve notes effortlessly.
Created a design system for the mobile application, Bullet
I designed a comprehensive design system that ensured consistency across mobile and web. I focused on creating a minimalist, snappy UI that reduced friction in note-taking while maintaining a polished, intuitive look. One of our key feature was a virtual secretary that can not only reduce the average time of finding a note but also filtering through and summarizing similar note files.
Planned and executed a "Guerilla Selling Survey" where we gave sales talks to students to purchase early adoption of our product
To test Bullet’s market appeal, we conducted a "Guerilla Selling Survey," where we approached students and pitched Bullet as a paid early-access product. This real-world validation exercise not only confirmed interest but also uncovered key pricing insights—50% of students were willing to pay for premium features like cross-device syncing and AI suggestions. The exercise proved invaluable in shaping Bullet’s monetization strategy and messaging, ensuring that we were building something people actually wanted to use and pay for.
Joined the Ateneo Startup Accelerator Program (ASAP), hosted by KAYA Founders
Bullet was selected to join the Ateneo Startup Accelerator Program or ASAP, a startup incubation program organized by KAYA Founders, which propelled us from idea to execution. Through the program, we refined Bullet’s business model, validated product-market fit, and worked closely with industry mentors. Our participation gave us access to strategic feedback, helping us reposition Bullet as an AI-powered productivity tool tailored for Gen Z and young professionals.
Implemented "Shark Sessions" for usability testing
Inspired by rapid iteration methods, I introduced "Shark Sessions" — live usability testing rounds where we presented Bullet to users and had them navigate the app while thinking out loud. We discovered that users don't know what's in their own notes apps and how this can affect their productivity by fostering forgetfulness. These sessions made us realize the importance of a "second brain" that need to work alongside our users' own mind.
